Haere mai - welcome to Star Boating Club - the birthplace of Wellington rowing.

Founded in 1866, Star Boating Club is Wellington's oldest rowing club. We are based on Whairepo Lagoon, next to Taranaki St Wharf.

We cater for all levels of rowing from juniors to masters.

Star has a reputation for producing some of New Zealand's best rowers, many of whom have gone on to compete at the World Championships and the Olympics.

The club is always on the look out for new rowers, coxswains and coaches. If you are interested in rowing please look at our Rowing at Star page for more information.

Our iconic clubhouse - called "The Boatshed", has been on the Wellington Waterfront for over 130 years.
