Haere Mai, Welcome to the Star Boating Club - Birthplace of Wellington Rowing.

Star Boating Club is Wellington's oldest rowing club and is based on Franks Kitts Lagoon, next to Taranaki St Wharf. The iconic clubhouse - called The Boatshed - has been on the Wellington Waterfront for over 120 years.

Founded in 1866, we cater for all levels of rowing from juniors to masters as well as corporate rowing.

Star has a great reputation for producing some of New Zealand's best rowers. Many of whom have gone on to compete at the World Championships and the Olympic games.

The club is always on the look out for new rowers, coxswains and coaches. If you are interested in rowing please look at our Rowing at Star page on how to join.

If you are interested in hiring The Boatshed, our function centre, then please visit www.theboatshedvenue.co.nz
