Camps

Transport, accommodation, and food for all rowers, coaches and supporters is organised by the squad parents for each camp. Each parent is expected to help at a minimum of one regatta or camp.

Each camp needs one parent lead organiser (usually someone with previous experience), and several parent helpers. Roles for parent helpers includes driving (to and from the camp as well as daily transportation needs will on camp), cooking, cleaning, and providing support for tired teenagers when they need it. Helping at a camp is hard work and tiring, but is also a fun and very satisfying way to spend time with a group of kids. Another benefit of helping out at camp is the opportunity to take a trip in a coaching boat to see your son or daughter in action up close and gain an even greater understanding of what goes on in the boat on a regatta day. All costs for parent helpers and coaches are covered by rowers attending the camp.
