Sunday 23rd August was the date that the "Motorway Marathon" took place alongside the Hutt Motorway.

Although the course is nowhere near as long as an actual marathon distance, it was still a good workout for the many Star crews that took part.

Wellington College and Wellington Girls College both entered eights and all Star affiliated schools entered fours and quads.

The event itself amalgamates the Bishop Owen Oar and the Mothes Shield. Both of which used to be raced separately; The former for school crews (in eights) and the later for club crews (in fours/quads). This season is actually the first time the Motorway Marathon has been held as every other time it has been cancelled.
