Star crews had some good wins at the 3 day Cambridge Town Cup at Lake Karapiro last weekend. The lake itself was partially drained on Friday and Saturday and Saturday morning in preparation for a heavy downpour. (it rained solidly Fri night/Sat morning) This produced some interesting sites, such as lane one not even fully submerged, and crews running aground just after the finish. Many crews made A and B finals, with wins in both. Notable results were: Jess Paton and Tayler Gall won the U18 double Tayler Gall and Charlotte Reinhardt won the U18 pair Jess Paton, Philippa Loveard, Charlotte Reinhardt and Tayler Gall, coxed by Emily Barker came 2nd U18 coxed four Jackie Kiddle, Philippa Loveard, Emily Mather and Phoebe Christensen coxed by Emily Barker came 2nd U17 coxed quad Jackie Kiddle came 2nd in the U17 single Ruby Tew and Meg Taylor-Smith came 3rd in the U17 double Lillias Henderson, Christina Neil, Alex Ware and Lucy Saunders, coxed by Jasmine Hales came 3rd U16 coxed quad The next regatta is the Wellington Champs this weekend. |
